This department-specific policy applies to the operations and staff of the Information Services
Department of the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority as integrated effective July 1,
2015.

I. PURPOSE

This policy describes vacation and holiday staff selection and On Call work scheduling for
specific workgroups within UW Health Information Services (IS), to ensure the appropriate level
of staff coverage within IS teams.

II. POLICY ELEMENTS

The level of staff coverage within individual IS teams is determined by management based on the
support needs of those teams, within the guidelines of the following Administrative
organizational policies:
• Admin Policy 9.50 Vacation and Legal Holidays
• Admin Policy 9.81 Scheduling of Work
