Title:
Resignation and Transfer Notice



I. PURPOSE
A. To meet operational needs in light of staff resignations and transfers.
II. POLICY:
A. All nursing and patient care staff within University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics are
expected to provide at least four (4) weeks notice of resignation and transfer.
III. PROCEDURE:
A. For resignations; a written, signed notice is to be given by the employee to his/her
manager at least four (4) weeks prior to the effective date.
B. For transfers; notice is to be given by the employee to his/her current manager at least
four (4) weeks in advance. The specific transfer date will be negotiated by the current
and proposed managers based on current operational needs. The current manager will
inform the staff member and the Recruitment Center of the transfer date.
