Title: Device Management – LWS
Workstation Record (this procedure is
used by UW Health and all affiliates)

I. PURPOSE

This procedure describes the responsibilities for shared management of workstation
records.

II. PROCEDURE

A. UW Health Guidelines and Procedures

1. Give Application teams advanced notice from End User Technical Support
(EUTS) prior to a workstation record being renamed or moved.
2. Prior to updating a workstation record in Epic’s LWS master file, the
responsible application analyst reviews the entire workstation record for
settings which may apply to another application team and follows up
accordingly.
3. If the workstation being replaced, moved, or newly installed is a Health Link
Downtime workstation (identified by a Health Link downtime sticker), EUTS
submits a HL Downtime PC/Printer Request in the Service Catalog of
ServiceNow (under Health Link). This creates tasks for all application teams to
review. The ticket must include the PC name and IP address so that the
various Health Link teams can update downtime report batch files with the
updated PC information. If a team does not have downtime reports spooling to
that workstation, their task may be closed.
