Administrative Departmental Procedure
This department-specific procedure applies to the operations and staff of the Information Services
Department of the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority as integrated effective July 1,
2015.

Procedure Title: Activating Health Link RightFax in the Non-Production Environments

I. PURPOSE
This procedure describes how to activate RightFax in the non-production Environments.

IV. PROCEDURE
A. Activate RightFax

Note: As of Epic 2012, only the Compiled Configuration (HDF 1) needs to be changed to
activate RightFax.

Enter the RightFax line according to the following figure.





B. Activate the Workstation

Note: There is only one RightFax workstation.

In order to avoid sending faxes to locations by accident, the RightFax workstation is
inactivated until a need arises to test faxing. The following instructions explain how to
activate the workstation.

Note: The workstation must only be activated during testing and made inactive once testing
is complete.

1. Find the RightFax workstation by typing rightfax at the workstation prompt.
2. Once you have selected the workstation, switch the Status field to Active from
Inactive on the first screen.




3. On the next screen:
a. Remove Yes from the Down? field.

b. Remove #######-Null_Printer from the Route to WS field.




4. Enter the date of testing and your user ID in the Notes field. This allows others to
communicate with you before making any changes, in case it was not set back.




5. When testing is complete, restore the fields in Steps 2 - 4 to their original values:
a. Set the Status field to Inactive.
b. Set the Down? field to Yes.
c. Set the Route to WS field to Null Printer.
d. Remove all comments from the Notes field.
