Title:
Inservice Education Programs

I. PURPOSE

To establish guidelines for inservice training for the employees of the Culinary Services and
Clinical Nutrition Services.

II. POLICY

Inservice education programs will be provided for all employees of the Culinary Services and
Clinical Nutrition Services Departments on a regular basis.

III. REFERENCES

Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, Current Year
Wisconsin Administrative Code H24.


IV. PROCEDURES
A. Mandatory inservice for all Culinary Services/Clinical Nutrition Services employees will be
provided in accordance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care
Organizations recommendations.
B. Mandatory programs will be geared toward the development of all levels of Culinary
Services and Clinical Nutrition Services personnel. Inservices may include a quiz to
evaluate the effectiveness of the training and level of understanding by employees.
C. Employees will sign and provide social security number on the Inservice Record for each
inservice education program attended. The inservice record will first be returned to each
area supervisor to record attendance in each area's inservice recording book, and then be
returned to the Culinary Services Secretary and kept on file in the employee’s file in
Peoplesoft HR and/or the Employee Database.
A. Each inservice record will contain the following:
A. Title and Category of Inservice
B. Instructor
C. Date, Time, and Length of Inservice
D. Summary of Inservice
E. Attendance (Employees Signature and Social Security Number)
D. Each manager is responsible for insuring that all employees receive the scheduled
inservices for each year. Each area of the department will maintain documentation as to
what inservices are scheduled, outline of class content, attendance record for each
employee, etc.
