4.15 Overhead Paging ‐ East and West Clinics

To define and describe access to and allowable uses of the East and West Clinics overhead paging systems.
The overhead paging systems at the East and West Clinics are intended for use only as an emergency or urgent
building-wide communication system. Approved uses at this time include building- wide communications related to
tornado alerts, medical emergencies, code pink/child abduction, yellow zone/bomb threat, behavior response team,
and announcing license numbers for cars in the parking lot with lights on. The system may also be used for unique
situations that arise from time to time and require immediate communication throughout the building. The
overhead paging system is not intended for routinely locating staff, faculty, or visitors in the building.
A. Speakers for the overhead paging system are surface-mounted in the ceiling tile throughout public areas
in the building, primarily in hallways, waiting rooms, and break rooms.
B. Overhead paging speakers are not located in exam or procedure rooms, offices, stairwells or conference
A. Staff can access the overhead paging system from any in-house telephone, personal or work cell phone,
or even their home phone by dialing:
1. East Clinic - 265-0223
2. West Clinic - 265-7699
B. Each overhead script should be stated three times to help ensure most people hear the message.
