Benefit Summary

Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Account allows you to put aside pre-tax dollars to pay for applicable expenses. UWMF only offers Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) and Combination Flexible Spending Account (CFSA)  to Physicians.

UW School of Medicine and Public Health offers a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA). If you would like to enroll in both Health Care Flexible Spending and Dependent Care Flexible Spending, enroll in the UWSMPH plan.

You can enroll in both UWMF and UWSMPH Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts for $5,150 total ($2,600 UWMF and $2,550 UWSMPH).

Benefit Eligibility

Employees must work 20 hours a week or more (equivalent to a 0.50 or greater FTE) and be an appointed faculty member of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health with a title of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistance Professor, Professor (Clinical Health Sciences), Associate Professor (CHS), Assistance Professor (CHS), Instructor (CHS) (Terminal Appointment), Visiting Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, or Visiting Assistant Professor to be eligible for UWMF’s Health Care Flexible Spending Account, Combination Flexible Spending Account and Health Savings Account.  Enrollment in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) is required for HSA enrollment. Enrollment in both an HSA and HDHP is required for Combination Flexible Spending Account (CFSA) enrollment.
