2017 Practice Council Report Out

Purpose

The purpose of the Nurse Practice Council is to address all aspects of nursing practice across UW Health utilizing evidence based practice and current professional nursing standards to ensure excellent nursing care for patients and families.

Accountabilities

Develop, implement, evaluate and optimize:

  1. Feedback on clinical policies and procedures
  2. Direct care workflows
  3. Alignment of role responsibility with the scope of practice
  4. Documentation processes
  5. Practice competency
  6. Nursing care delivery systems

MEETING FREQUENCY

Monthly (2nd Tuesday, 0730-1100)

MINIMUM EXPECTATIONS

Regular participation, no unexcused absences and no more than 2 excused absences.

Topics that impact/change nursing practice or topics that are nursing practice issues requiring discussion should be endorsed by the Practice Council.
