SOS (Save Our Shift) Team - For Nurses, Leadership, Departments and Units, Nursing Operation Support

Focus

The SOS department is a team of experienced general care and critical care nurse clinicians that provide support in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. These nurses respond to all blue carts, rapid responses, medical responses, stroke codes, NES codes and level one traumas. They assist staff with acute situations for patients needing a higher level of care, and provide monitored transport support for off-unit patient tests. In addition, during the day, the SOS team places bedside feeding tubes and inpatient TB skin tests.

SOS team members are a 24-hour resource to staff seeking additional support, and are happy to answer any clinical questions. SOS nurses work collaboratively with their colleagues to triage requests to meet as many patient/staff needs as possible.
