Focus

UWHC uses social media for various operational and clinical reasons. All personal use of social media must be on non-work time. Employees must not state or suggest that their views are related to UW Health, and a disclaimer should be used as needed. Employees must always use good judgment and be aware of professional boundaries and privacy issues when using personal social media.

All users of social media, both UW Health hosted and non-hosted, must comply with policies regarding confidentiality, proprietary information, HIPAA, privacy, and use of computer systems. Inappropriate or improper use of social media by employees, determined not to be protected activity or speech, may result in discipline, up to and including discharge.

Policy 1.47: Administration
