Focus

UWHC is committed to the safety and well-being of its employees, patients, and visitors, the protection of company and public property, the productivity of its workforce, and the preservation of a safe working environment. Consistent with the spirit of this commitment, UWHC has a no-tolerance policy prohibiting the unlawful manufacture, distribution, sale, purchase, dispensation, possession, or use of drugs and controlled substances, or unauthorized use, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the workplace. The workplace includes while on the job, including breaks and meals periods, and/or while on UWHC property/premises and in UWHC vehicles.

In support of providing a drug- and alcohol-free work environment, UWHC conducts pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for safety-sensitive positions, for reasonable suspicion and fitness for duty situations.

UWHC will take appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including discharge, or require satisfactory participation in rehabilitation or counseling, when a violation of the Drug-Free Workplace policy occurs.
