CC Lab Orders

CC Lab Orders - Growth & Development, Training & Education, Health Link Training and Access, 10 Minute Tips, Podcasts and Video Clips, Inpatient Discharge/Consult/ED

Focus

Effective January 29, 2018, when labs are ordered in the ED or Inpatient setting, there will now be the capability to CC the results to another provider. It is anticipated that providers can use this functionality to send the results to themselves if they are not the attending physician.

In addition, this can be used to send results to specialists who request the primary team to order certain specialized labs. However, per hospital policy, the attending physician is ultimately responsible for following and addressing all lab results. Please see Policy 3.2.3 regarding the expectations to “done-ing” of results messages.
