Portfolio - Growth & Development, Career Development, Ortho/Rehab OT and PT Professional Advancement and Recognition Program

Focus

The portfolio provides comprehensive background information and provides the therapist with an opportunity to highlight how their background impacts his or her practice. The portfolio is used to assess therapists that apply for the Advanced Clinician or Expert Clinician level.

The portfolio contains the following elements:

  1. Cover Letter
  2. Resume/Curriculum Vitae
    • Education
    • Experience
    • Presentations
    • Research/Publications
    • Community Involvement
    • Committee Participation
    • Student/Resident Teaching Activities
    • Mentoring Activities
  3. Letters of Recommendation

The letters of recommendation must address the therapist's practice and should not be used to speak generically about the therapist. Therapists applying to the Advanced Clinician require three (3) letters of recommendation with one (1) of the letters of recommendation coming from an individual in the same discipline or team as the applicant and one (1) of the letters of recommendation coming from an individual in a different discipline or team as the applicant. Therapists applying to Expert Clinician require four (4) letters of recommendation with one (1) of the letters of recommendation coming from an individual in the same discipline or team as the applicant and one (1) of the letters of recommendation coming from an individual in a different discipline or team as the applicant.
