Associate Degree New-To-Practice Nurse Program - Growth & Development, Career Development, Nursing Development Programs

The Associate Degree New-to-Practice Nurse program (ADNTP) at UW Hospital and Clinics is designed for existing employees, who are enrolled in an Associate Degree in Nursing. This opportunity allows newly graduated Associate Degree nurses to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to assume a registered nurse position at UW Hospital and Clinics.

A UWHC nurse poses at workThis program offers guided classroom and clinical experiences to help support your transition from student nurse to professional nurse. Through experiences designed by expert nurses you will further develop your skills and critical thinking in the following areas: patient safety, leadership abilities, evidence-based practice, professional career development, and written and verbal communication skills.

To support continued learning and preparation for assuming a professional role upon program completion, the Associate Degree New-to-Practice nurse will be placed in a four-or six-month preceptorship, based on location.
