University Health Services (UHS)
- Clinical Services, (608) 262-3016, 1552 University Ave, provides outpatient primary medical care, nursing, and prevention services, including general medicine, women’s clinic, sexually transmitted disease evaluation and treatment, allergy and dermatology. Health concerns can affect academic performance; some counseling and mental health problems interact with or masquerade as physical complaints. Open 8:30am-5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 9am-5pm Wednesday.
- Counseling and Consultation Services, 265-5600, 905 University Ave., helps students who are experiencing personal stress, career concerns, family or interpersonal conflict, general anxiety, depression, or other psychological concerns. Staff also provide an after-hours crisis response service at 265-6565. Since it is a unit of UHS, staff and services are integrally linked to the clinical services listed above. Open 8:30 am-5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 9am-5pm Wednesday.
Dean of Students’ Staff at (608) 263-5700, 75 Bascom Hall, are ready to assist and support you in any way we can as you work with our students. Often serving as ombudspersons or problem-solvers for the University Community, we work to sort out individual, group, or institutional problems that don’t seem to fit anywhere or that may require attention from senior staff to attempt to find a special resolution.
