Requesting a room

Initial referral to the Ronald McDonald house is available through the Guest Services Department. Guest Services staff are available at the AFCH Guest Depot daily, 8am-8pm. The AFCH Guest Depot number is (608) 890-8000.

Guest Service staff are also available at the Main Information Desk at UWHC everyday from 7:30am-9pm. The Main Information Desk number is (608) 263-0315.

Only the initial referral needs to be made by Guest Services staff. Return visitors may call the Ronald McDonald House directly at (608) 232-4660.

We ask a nominal fee of $10 per night, with the first night’s fee due upon arrival. Should this fee pose a financial strain, please consult the appropriate hospital social worker or family and patient services department to work out other arrangements. RMHC-Madison does not turn families away due to financial circumstances.

You may check in any time between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday through Friday, and 9 am to 8 pm, Saturday and Sunday. The House is accessible to families 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Length of Stay

You are welcome to stay at the House while your child is receiving treatment at a Madison health care facility. Families may stay one night, a week, several months, or up to a year if necessary.

The house has a pantry, so that residents can pack meals and bring with them to the hospital
