Patient Resources works closely with Medical Transportation Management, Inc. (MTM) and will problem solve any issue involving UW Health Ambulatory Locations. Patient Resources is able to use gift funds for urgent rides for non-MA patients to UW Health locations, which must be requested by clinical staff. Clinical staff must approve that cab is appropriate for patient condition (i.e., the patient does not need ambulance).
- Medical Assistance patients should be referred to MTM (866-907-1493) to arrange a ride. Patients must provide two working days’ notice, unless the appointment is made same day/next day and deemed urgent. Clinic staff may be contacted by MTM for verification of urgency. You can confirm without giving medical detail.
- NON Medical Assistance patients with transportation barriers refer to Patient Resources if patient needs to be seen urgently or has ongoing medical appointment transportation needs.
- UW Health Ambulatory locations after-hours transportation needs:
- Inpatient/ED/including after-hours, contact the nurse supervisor for arrangements. On weekends, page the case manager on call from 8-4:30pm. After hours, call the nurse supervisor.
