Focus

A UWCCC Cancer researcher shows off her workUniversity of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center has consistently been a leader in advancing the nation's cancer research agenda. At the Carbone Cancer Center, our goal is to provide patients with the best cancer treatment available. Our strength lies in our multidisciplinary approach to cancer care in which a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, surgeon and other specialties work together in determining the best treatment for each patient. The team approach includes nurses, social workers, pathologists, radiologists, psychologists, dieticians, genetic counselors and integrative medicine providers.

The Carbone Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer center in the state of Wisconsin, as designated by the National Cancer Institute. Our organization is considered comprehensive because the mission touches all the key areas that embody the Wisconsin idea: research, education, community outreach and state-of-the-art patient care. The ability to translate our research discoveries into meaningful new approaches allows us to offer our patients the newest and most promising treatments available and sets us apart from other facilities that offer cancer treatment.
