UW Health uses Vidyo desktop video software for telehealth initiatives that allow providers to communicate with patients via video conferencing. Providers can follow the steps below to determine whether the Vidyo software is downloaded to their computer systems and, if necessary, download and run the software.
- If you are working on a UW Health network: Contact the Help Desk at (608) 265-7777.
- If you are working on a UWSMPH network: Contact your department's IS department.

Step 1: Is Vidyo Already Installed on Your System?
Desktop users: Select Start >All Programs.
Mac users: Open your Finder and select Applications.

Step 2: Install Vidyo on Your System
Note: You cannot install Vidyo from within the Citrix home access system. Do not log into Citrix prior to starting the procedure below.
|1||Open a new web browser. You can use Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Firefox (Desktop users) or Safari (Mac users).|
|2||Enter the following URL in your browser: https://clinical.video.uwhealth.org|
Select the download icon, shown below:
Launch the Vidyo executable file to display the Vidyo setup window, shown below:
Select Next and complete the setup progression to launch the Vidyo login window, shown below:
|6||In the VidyoPortal field, enter https://clinical.video.uwhealth.org|
|7||Enter your Health Link credentials in the Username and Password fields.|
Step 3: Run Vidyo
Desktop users: Select Start>All Programs and scroll and select Vidyo Desktop.
Mac users: Open Finder>Applications>Vidyo>Vidyo Desktop.
Result: The Vidyo login window, shown below, displays:
