Do I need a Host Account?
You do not need an account to attend a WebEx from an invitation. Anyone with access to the internet can join a UW Health WebEx meeting as an attendee.
If you are interested in scheduling and/or hosting your own WebEx meetings, you need to submit a request to have a host account created for you.
Am I Eligible?
Any staff employed by the UW Hospital and Clinics, by the UW Medical Foundation, Access Community Health Centers (ACHC) or the SMPH Department of Family Medicine is eligible for a UW Health Cisco WebEx host account.
By current legal contract, you are not eligible for a UW Health WebEx account if you are employed by the following:
- UW SMPH (School of Medicine and Public Health) departments (exception: Department of Family Medicine)
- UW Affiliate partners, such as Swedish American Hospital, Johnson Creek Cancer Center, etc.
How do I Request an Account for Myself if I am Eligible?
Submit a request through UW Health Service Now. Go to UConnect > click on ServiceNow > Information Services (non- Health Link) > Generic Request. In your description, write “Please create UW Health WebEx account.”
- Loaner Host accounts are not permitted at UW Health per UW Health IS-Risk and Compliance. There are no exceptions. This practice violates regulations. The host logging in with their user name must be the host present during the WebEx meeting unless an Alternate Host is designated via your WebEx site. An alternate host must also have a WebEx host account. An assistant scheduling on behalf of another WebEx host must also have an account.
- WebEx is tool that like any tool requires learning. It is not provided on an urgent basis.
What if I need to request more than one UW Health WebEx account?
Please use the WebEx Account Info Required excel spreadsheet to provide the required information for each person who needs an account.
