Call Response - Departments & Programs, UW Hospital and Clinics, Security

Focus

The UWHC Security Program is designed to prevent security risks/problems wherever possible. It is also designed to respond to and manage situations as they occur. To that end we attempt to bring resolution to most situations without outside law enforcement involvement. When that is not possible, we work very closely with the UW Police Department as well as numerous other Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.

Security Officers respond to all requests for service. This includes, but is not limited to disturbances, suspicious persons, escorts and lockouts, as well as strong teams, medical responses, blue carts and fire alarms.

Security may be reached by calling (608) 890-5555 or in the case of an emergency staff may call 911. 911 calls made on any house telephone go directly to UWPD, while 911 calls made on cell phones go to the Dane County Emergency Call Center.
