Excellent care and service at UW Clinics begins with the Registration Department. Registrars assist with collecting and updating information which is critical to patient safety and also ensures that claims are processed quickly and accurately.

Because patients frequently move, change jobs, and/or change insurance plans, we verify insurance, home address and phone information every 180 days. Whenever possible, we do this by having a Registrar call the patients at home prior to their appointment. A few of these items are then confirmed at each appointment.

Presently, there are 50+ Registrars at 9 different Registration areas. At the CSC, Registration areas are located in the C (module?), G lobby, the Oncology Clinic and the Orthopedic Clinic. At AFCH there are 3 Registration offices located on the 2nd floor across from the patient elevators. Additionally, each of the off-site clinics has a fully staffed Registration hub.

A patient has questions regarding their insurance. How can I let Admissions know that they would like a call?

Call (608) 263-8770 to let Admissions know the patient would like to receive a call regarding their insurance.

Can patients get their parking passes at the Information Desk?

UW Hospital provides one free parking pass per inpatient. Passes can
be obtained and renewed in the Admissions Department, located at E5/213, behind the UW Hospital Information Desk near the Gift Shop.

How does a patient connect with Registration?

There are several different ways that patients can register. They can be transferred to Registration at the time appointment of scheduling. Registration staff also calls patients to pre-register them prior to an appointment. Or the patient can register when they arrive for their appointment either in Registration or via a clinic courtesy phone.

What are the hours of operation for Registration?

UWHC Registration phone lines are open 7am to 8:30pm (M-F), and MF Registration phone lines are open 7am to 7pm (M-Th) and 7am to 5pm (F). After hours registration services are available at University Station Clinic weekdays until 8:30pm, and weekends between 8am and 3:30pm.
