Focus

Nursing staff is responsible for gathering patient belongings, giving them to the family if present, or sending them with the body. Valuables are the exception. If the decedent had valuables and the family is not present to take them, the Nursing staff is responsible for contacting Security, who will store the valuables in the Hospital Business Office. UWHC Policy 4.21 (V)(B)(4).
