Outreach Specimen Processing:

Specimens that require transportation should be placed in special transport media which can be obtained by calling UWHC Surgical Pathology Specimen Receiving at (608)263-6242.

Send specimen with request to UWHC Hospital Laboratory. 


Specimen Transport:

Tissue for immunofluorescent studies from within CSC should be tubed to station 501 or hand delivered to UWHC Surgical Pathology Specimen Receiving Room FRESH, no fixative.

Unacceptable Criteria:

Tissue placed in fixative solution


Tissue immunoflouresence studies vary with the specimen type and clinical diagnosis. The assigned pathologist will determine the appropriate panel of antibodies. Contact UWHC Surgical Pathology (608) 263-8443 to make arrangements to discuss the testing.
