Useful in diagnosis of patients with both Molybdenum cofactor deficiency (MoCoD) and isolated sulfite oxidase deficiency (ISOD).

Testing Site: Testing will be sent to an approved reference laboratory

Days Performed: Once a week.

Specimen: Urine

Collection Container: Sterile screw cap container

Collection Instructions:

Random urine collection only. No preservative necessary.

Collection Volume: 1 mL

Pediatric Collection Volume: 0.3 mL

Outreach Specimen Processing:

Transport frozen specimen to UWHC Hospital Laboratory on dry ice.

Specimen Transport:

Immediately after specimen collection is completed, transport specimen to laboratory. If transport is delayed, freeze specimen.
