See instructions included in Para-Pak® Ova & Parasite (O&P) kit (pink and gray caps) for the collection of stool. Do not contaminate stool with urine during collection. For non-stool specimens, collect specimen in sterile screw cap container.

Transport specimen to the laboratory.
Specimens on patients hospitalized more than 3 days are not acceptable unless the patient is immunocompromised. See "Additional Information" below.
Interpretation Type: Expected Results
Because these agents do not cause hospital acquired infections, specimens on patients who have been hospitalized greater than 3 days will require approval of the Director of Microbiology or Pathology Resident.
