Also Acceptable: 2 full Radiometer capillary tubes

Collection Instructions:

Radiometer "PICO"® syringes must be free of bubbles and clots. Two full Radiometer capillaries free of air bubbles and clots are needed for capillary blood. Do not use green top (Lithium or Sodium Heparin) tubes.

Collection Volume: 1.5 mL

Pediatric Collection Volume: 0.5 mL

Stability Ambient:

1 hour

Sample Analyzed: Whole Blood

Testing Volume: 1.5 mL

Pediatric Testing Volume: 0.5 mL

Specimen Transport:

Transport specimen to UWHC Hospital Laboratory immediately.  

Unacceptable Criteria:

Clotted specimens, or specimens past stability time are not acceptable.
