Similac® Alimentum®
Mixing Instructions for 22 Calories per Ounce

Similac® Alimentum® formula is normally mixed to provide 20 calories per ounce. Your infant
needs higher calorie formula. Follow these instructions closely when mixing formula. It is
important to measure the infant formula powder and the water correctly. Please measure the
water and powder separately.

Measure Water
Fluid Ounces
Formula Powder
unpacked, level scoops added
Final Volume
3 ½ ounces* + 2 scoops = 4 ounces
5 ½ ounces* + 3 scoops = 6 ounces
7 ounces + 4 scoops = 8 ounces
*1/2 ounce = 1 Tablespoon

Mixing Similac® Alimentum® formula using measuring cups:
Measure Water
Fluid Ounces
Formula Powder
Final Volume
12 ounces + ½ cup = 13 ½ ounces
24 ounces + 1 cup = 27 ounces

Refrigerate formula for 24 hours then discard.
Do not heat formula in a microwave oven.
