Nursing Practice
Guidelines are for YOU!
UW Health nurses have 17 Nursing Practice Guidelines
(NPGs) available to provide evidence-based nursing
interventions aimed at improving nursing practice and
patient outcomes.
Additionally, 19 TRIP sheets (Translating Research Into
Practice) are available. These 1-paged, clinician focused
documents help to link evidence to expectations in
practice.
And did you know that there are now 6 Quick Help for
Nurses available! This new “app” brings the expertise
and knowledge of content experts to help answer some
frequent clinical questions. The answers are all evidence-
based and can be linked to either a Nursing Practice
Guideline or a TRIP sheet.
Help spread the word!

Each Nursing Practice Guideline is reviewed and
revised (as needed) every three years. This review
process is a collaboration between the guideline
content expert and the Nursing Practice Guideline
Committee. The Nursing Practice Council completes
the final approval of all guidelines (new and revised).
The review process includes updating the relevant
clinical tools related to the guideline.
