Inaugural Issue for You!
Did you know…
… that Nursing Practice Guidelines (NPGs) have been
around since 2006? In that time we have developed 26
guidelines, retired 8, and to date, we have 17 guidelines
available for nurses across UW Health to use!
Additionally, since 2014, 18 TRIP sheets (Translating
Research Into Practice) have been developed. These 1-
paged, clinician focused documents help to link research
evidence to expectations in practice.
What are Nursing Practice Guidelines?
NPGs are designed to accelerate the translation of
research into practice by clearly describing evidence-
based nursing interventions. The aim of each guideline is
to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.
How were Guideline Topics Selected?
Nurses across UW Health have selected all of the guideline
topics by identifying them, via survey, to be top priority
areas that needed evidence-based nursing practices to
care for their patients.
