To revise or develop order sets for Health Link, the electronic care delivery system, UWHC has initiated a new clinician-driven process to revise and standardize order sets. The order sets are based on the most recent clinical evidence, reflect the organizationally approved model of care, and fit the format of the electronic health record (EHR). A team of Clinical Content Facilitators is available to assist the clinicians throughout this process. PERIODIC REVIEW PROCESS

Order sets are reviewed every 2-3 years. A robust development process is in place to revise and standardize order sets. The development process includes a review from content experts from various domains (physician champion, nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, respiratory, etc.) to ensure the order sets are based on the most recent clinical evidence, reflect the organizationally approved model of care, and fit the format of the electronic health record (EHR). OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

The Order Set Oversight Workgroup consists of physicians, nurse practitioners and Inpatient IS analysts that convene on a monthly basis to discuss the process of order set development and topics surrounding content and functionality within order sets.
