ONCE For 1 Doses
1. Prophylactic Once Daily Dosing: First dose of
enoxaparin is permitted as soon as 12 hours after
spinal block administered. Maximum dose for
enoxaparin is 40 mg. Second dose of enoxaparin
must be 24 hours after the first dose of enoxaparin.
2. Prophylactic Twice Daily Dosing (e.g. 30mg SQ q12
hours) is not permitted until 24 hours after spinal block
administered, but a once daily prophylactic dosing
regimen can be used in the 1st 24 hours after a spinal
block has been administered.
3. Therapeutic Dosed Low Molecular Weight Heparins
(e.g. 1mg/kg q12 hours or 1.5-2mg/kg q24 hours) are
not permitted in the 1st 24 hours after a spinal block
has been administered but a once daily dosing
PROPHYLACTIC regimen can be used in the 1st 24
hours after a spinal block has been administered.
