For serum K between 3.6 - 3.9 mmol/L give 10 mEq
every 1 hour for 2 doses
For serum K between 3.1 - 3.5 mmol/L give 10 mEq
every 1 hour for 4 doses
For serum K less than or equal to 3.0 mmol/L give 10
mEq every 1 hour for 6 doses
Use only if patient is unable to tolerate enteral
administration
Do NOT give IV and oral formulation at the same
time.
