• Dementia Black Box Warning: Antipsychotics Increased Mortality in Elderly Patients with
Related Psychosis. Give only in circumstances of imminent danger to self or others. -Dementia
• Parkinson’s Disease: Haloperidol is contraindicated.
Side Effects: •
Benzodiazepines (lorazepam): increase risk of respiratory depression AND increased risk -
for falls and confusion in elderly
- QT interval: haldol can prolong QT interval
