Tube Initial Use Trial [NURTAD0046] CONTINUOUS, Starting tomorrow at 8:00 AM, If bowel
sounds are present and patient's vital signs return to
baseline, instill 200 mL of water and check for residual in 30
minutes. If residual less than 100 mL, may begin using the
tube for feedings with dietary recommendation.
If there is jejunal tube, J tube Dobhoff or a GJ tube, feeds
through the jejunal portion should restart at the same rate and
protocol as before the new PEG placement. DO NOT feed
the stomach but jejunum is ok.
Flush Tube With 30 mL of Water After Giving

gauze.
