your Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation.

Wound Care [NURWND0015] Routine, Remove the bandage over the incision before
showering.
For the next 3 days:
- Gently clean the site using soap and water while in the
shower.
- Dry thoroughly. Do not rub the site.
- You may apply an antibacterial ointment (i.e. Neosporin ).
Do not use lotions or powders in the area.
- Cover the site with a Band-Aid or dressing. Make sure to
cover the entire area. A square adhesive Band-Aid works
well.
- Keep the site clean and dry to prevent infection. If the Band-
Aid or dressing becomes wet, remove it and replace it with a
new one.
- Inspect the site daily for redness, swelling, or drainage.

Referral Cardiac Rehab (Outpatient) [CON0174] All patients being discharged from UWHC IP CVM with the
following diagnoses should receive a referral to cardiac
rehab: Acute Myocardial Infarction (410.) (i.e. all STEMI or
NSTEMI patients), Stable Angina (413.9), Coronary Artery
Bypass Surgery (V45.81), Valve Surgery (repair or
replacement) (V42.2 or V42.3), Percutaneous Coronary
Angioplasty or Stenting (V45.82), or Heart Transplant (V42.1).
Typically, outpatient cardiac rehab follow-up appointments
occur 2-4 weeks post-hospitalization. Inpatient Preventive
Cardiology staff, Megan Renneberg or Lisa Wedekind, will
refer and make arrangements for the patient. If you have
further questions, you may call them at 263-6630.
