Discharge Diet [NURDIE0013] Routine, General Diet: No restrictions
Contingency Parameter [NURCOM0071] Please complete in PATIENT FRIENDLY terms. This
order will appear on the patient's After Hospital Care
Plan., Routine, For questions or problems call 608-
263-6420 during business hours. After hours or on
weekends ask to speak to the Plastic Surgery resident
on call. Prior to leaving the hospital, load the phone
number into your contacts in your cell phone for easy
access. If you have not already done so, please
consider signing up for MyChart.
Discharge Sun Precautions [DC0021] Routine, Avoid sun exposure to surgical site. All
affected areas should be covered with loose clothing
and/or sunblock SPF 25 or greater.
Discharge Bowel Instructions [DC0021] Routine, Opioid pain medications cause constipation.
You can manage constipation with increasing fluids in
the diet. Increasing fiber in the diet with fruits and
vegetables or prune juice helps. While taking opioid
pain medications, use an over the counter stool
softener such as polyethylene glycol (Miralax) or
docusate with senna.
